Emergency First Aid at Work

Course Overview
Our Emergency First Aid at Work course is a one-day, six-hour intensive training designed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to handle emergencies in the workplace. This course is ideal for employees designated as first aid responders and anyone interested in gaining critical first aid skills.
Course Requirements
Eligibility:
No prior first aid knowledge is required.
Participants should be physically able to perform CPR and other physical activities involved in the training.
Attire:
Comfortable clothing is recommended as practical exercises will require movement and kneeling.
Materials:
All training materials, including manuals, bandages, and practice dummies will provided. Participants should bring a notebook and pen for notes.
Certification:
Participants will receive a First Aid at Work certification upon successful completion, valid for three years.

Course Outline
The six-hour training covers several key modules, ensuring comprehensive first-aid knowledge and skills:
1. Introduction to First Aid :
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider.
- Legal requirements and workplace safety regulations.
2. Assessing the Situation :
- Conducting a scene survey for safety.
- Primary survey techniques (DR ABC – Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, Circulation).
3. CPR and AED Training :
- Performing CPR on adults, children, and infants.
- Recognizing cardiac arrest signs.
- Safe use of an AED.
- Practical sessions using mannequins.
4. Managing Unconscious Casualties :
- Recovery position for different age groups.
- Monitoring and reassessment of casualties.
5. Treating Wounds and Bleeding :
- Types of wounds and appropriate treatments.
- Controlling severe bleeding using pressure and bandages.
- Practical bandaging exercises.
6. Dealing with Shock:
- Recognizing shock signs and symptoms.
- Managing the condition until help arrives.
7. Handling Fractures, Sprains, and Strains :
- Identifying fractures and soft tissue injuries.
- Immobilizing and supporting injured areas.
8. Burns and Scalds :
- Classification of burns by severity.
- First aid steps for thermal, chemical, and electrical burns.
9. Handling Choking Incidents :
- Recognizing choking signs.
- Performing back blows and abdominal thrusts (Heimlich maneuver).
10. Medical Emergencies:
- Managing asthma attacks, diabetic emergencies, and anaphylaxis.
- Use of epinephrine auto-injectors.
- Recognizing and responding to heart attacks and strokes.
Instruments Used in Emergency Injuries
- CPR Mannequins: For practicing resuscitation techniques.
- AED Trainers: For learning the use of Automated External Defibrillators.
- Bandages and Dressings: For wound care and bleeding control.
- Splints: For immobilizing fractures and sprains.
- Epinephrine Auto-Injectors (EpiPen): For managing severe allergic reactions.
- Gloves and Face Shields: For personal protection during first aid procedures.
